If you live in one of Southampton’s Conservation Areas (such as Portswood, Bassett, or Old Town) or have a tree protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), it is an offence under the Town and Country Planning Act to prune or fell it without permission—carrying potential fines of up to £20,000.
We handle the paperwork for you. We routinely work with the Southampton City Council planning portal. For trees in Conservation Areas (any tree with a stem diameter over 75mm), we submit the required 6-weeks’ written notice on your behalf. For TPO trees, we will assess the tree, submit the formal application, and liaise with the local tree officers to ensure everything is 100% compliant before we pick up a chainsaw.
